The group of companies Slavia Capital has completed acquisition through its subsidiary SC Nylon of production activities of the company Nylstar Slovakia, a.s. Humenne. Slavia Capital’s spokesperson Peter Bencurik informed that the group thus successfully completed the takeover of the largest European producer of textile nylon yarn. “Financial details of the transaction will not be published,” Mr. Bencurik said. Slavia Capital’s objective is to strengthen Nylstar’s position on the market, make its production more effective with the use of targeted investments and continue in supplies of chemical yarns especially to customers in western Europe. Planned initial investment should reach EUR 5 million (SKK 150.3 million), Mr. Bencurik added. Nylstar Slovakia is one of the most prominent industrial companies in eastern Slovakia. It focuses on production, development and sale of synthetic fibers. It employs 590 people. Last year, it posted revenues of SKK 2.15 billion (EUR 71.37 million). Nearly 99 percent of its output is exported, mainly to Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. The investment group Slavia Capital has been active on the market since 2005. It concentrates on private equity operations. Its main spheres of interest are the energy sector, renewable sources and fuels, financial services, food industry, and real estate. |
