Today’s children are tomorrows hope. Even this statement by the actor Antonio Banderas confirms the crucial importance of investment in the next generation. It is our responsibility to the next generation, to create the best possible environment for the fulfillment of their dreams, visions and aspirations.

The Help for Children in Danger foundation was founded in 2001. It is registered in the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic, under number 203/Na-96/624. The statistical department of Slovakia has allocated it an identification number (IČO) 30789842. The mission of the foundation is above all, to help sick, abused, neglected, disabled children, or children who are unsafe or in danger of health.

The civil association Help for Children in Danger was founded in 2000. It is registered in the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic, under number VVS/1-900/90-17686-2. The statistical department of Slovakia has allocated it an identification number (IČO) 31806970.

The help, which the Foundation gave to specific children in 2010, may be divided into three main categories:

· Help to children, with purchasing school supplies, toiletries, clothing, payment of expenses for travelling to school or the hospital, paying for children’s food in both boarding schools and regular canteens, payment for school trips etc.

· Help to disabled children through the purchase of medical devices based on the specific needs of each individual child, payment of invoices for drugs, hospital stays, and medical reimbursement for operations carried out abroad and outside the Slovak Republic etc.

· Implementing larger projects, such as the enhancement of children’s hospitals.

In 2008, the foundation Help for Children in Danger implemented a special project. In March 2008, punk musicians approached the foundation, with an offer of cooperation. As Slovakia is home to many of these bands and their fans, the original idea to organize a Punk Festival was created, where the proceeds from the festival would support children who are in life threatening situations. This fantastic idea was implemented during the first weekend of August in Brezova pod Bradlom, where the two day punk festival for kids took place. 18 bands took part in the festival, all of which perfomed for free in aid of the cause. After 2 years of existence is the festival "Punkáči deťom" the biggest punk festival in Slovakia and in July 2010 more than 50 Slovak and international punk groups supported the children in danger.

Members of the foundation carry out their roles voluntarily and without charging any fees. The foundation does not consider helping children only from a charitable perspective but also as a commitment to the pursuit of life goals for our future generation.
